Gubbalaala Government School

Gubbalaala school is again a very special school for us where we got to work with some of the most passionate people from Tranquil Charitable Foundation (TCF)( http://tranquilcharity.org/ ). TCF is working tirelessly and holistically for the betterment of this school and the result what we saw was quite commendable. We were lucky to get a chance to work with talented, well behaved and sensitive set of children from this school.

Though we did the drawing activity with the children earlier this year, planning the actual wall painting took a while since the school was building some new rooms. During the drawing activity, the children came up with some really nice drawings, narrations, poems and illustrations.

After construction of rooms, the school received a complete new makeover with fresh and bright wall paints, it was quite inviting for us to decorate it with mural.

As a first step TCF wanted us to decorate the newly built library/resource room to bring in elements which would inspire young minds. It was a wonderful experience with many volunteers from TCF and Hongirana. We got together to decorate these walls.

Soon after library we were all set for doing the outdoor painting inspired by children’s drawings, theme was mostly landscapes. Outdoor space of the school was so beautiful with trees and gardens and a good play area. We had a great time with many volunteers, children and teachers of school involved from time to time.
