Gita Day Celebrations

In celebration of Gita day, Mission Disha organized a Gita chanting competition for children. The event proved to be very popular among the participating schools, with children of all grades enthusiastically memorizing shlokas from chapter 2, Sankhya Yoga of the Bhagavad Gita.

Despite the difficulty of the chapter, the children displayed a remarkable eagerness to learn and practice the shlokas, with many mastering the first 20 within a matter of days. As a result, the competition was a resounding success, attracting participants from across the region.

The competition was split into two rounds, with the first being held in the schools themselves. Ganigarapalya school had around 30 children participating, and from this group, eight were selected to compete in the second round. This final round took place on December 24th at Sidda Ganga school, where the children were individually called upon to recite a portion of a shloka.

It was heartening to see that all the children had memorized the shlokas so well that they did not falter even when asked to start from the middle. The audience and judges were highly impressed with the flawless rendition of the Sanskrit shloka by the participants.
