Puppet Show At Mandala for Children

Historically, puppetry has been effective and important in disseminating knowledge, especially among children.
Moreover, since puppetry imbibes elements of various art forms, such as literature, dance, drama and music, we believe this helps enable creativity among children. So when the opportunity came in the form of an invitation from Dhaatu Mandala, a well-established cultural centre promoting puppetry in Bengaluru, we really wanted our children to have the unique experience of watching a puppet show.

Ms Anupama Hoskere, founder and owner of Dhaatu Mandala, was highly supportive of extending these shows exclusively for school children and kindly agreed to an 85-member group for a morning show on the 9th of December.
HF was only too happy to facilitate the logistics to bring the students of 5th-7th std to attend the show.

The show was called Mooshika Katha and is about the Panchatantra story of a mouse that transformed into a young girl, whose father then goes in search of a suitable groom. The story enthralled the children and sections of it had them in splits. Even though the children were not very familiar with English, Ms.Hoskere’s storytelling was easily able to transcend the language barrier.

Fun during commute to the Mandala Centre

The children thoroughly enjoyed this short, entertaining outing at Dhaatu Mandala. They had almost as much fun playing Antakshari on the short ride from the school to the cultural centre!
