Association of Mentally Challenged – Bangalore

October 10 & 11th, 2019

The art project at the Association for The Mentally Challenged (AMC) was a wonderful opportunity for Team Hongirana to brighten up their space with art and to meet the children and the staff associated with the school. Our team of volunteers worked with their usual fervor and enthusiasm to complete a considerable amount of work on day 1 and this is only possible due to the camaraderie we share. When children came up to us to look at the artwork and expressed their appreciation it was especially heartening.

The freshly painted yellow walls came alive as bright green vines with pink and purple flowers sprawled through the expanse. Paintings of birds added to the beauty of the artwork, but we think it was the mural of the peacock that stood out with its multitude of colors.

It was a great opportunity to work with an organization that caters to the needs of these differently-abled children by empowering them with education, training and rehabilitation to improve the quality of life for them and their families. We at team Hongirana believe that art does not just beautify living spaces but can also be a great healing force for life.

Special thanks to Association of Mentally Challenged and Tranquil Trust for providing this opportunity
